One of the lead proponents of the proposed paving of the Minnesota River Valley Trail likes to use the adjective “macho” when describing the thousands who enjoy the valley for the wonderfully wild place that it is today.
We are a group of dedicated cyclists, trail runners, hikers, nature enthusiasts, and tax paying citizens who believe that it is fiscally irresponsible to build a paved trail in a flood plain. We would like to see the MN River Valley Bottoms remain a natural area with natural trails. We are working hard to make people aware of the proposed trail. We have created a petition for people to sign in support of keeping the MN River Valley Bottoms in the natural state they are in.
Leaving nature alone is the best option for our future generations to enjoy. Ask the deer, birds, etc what they would like to see done with their environment. Please stop with all the toxic footprints. I am one with the Native Americans who see nature as sacred. As humans it is a privilege to be in nature not change it for our conveniences. May you be kind to our River Valley those who have the power to change it. Be humble now and do the right thing.
