Sharing this story in the STRIB on Park/Recreational Space in the Metro.
One interesting quote from it:
“Trails, however, have expanded rapidly. The metro area has 131 more miles of regional trails than it did in 2009, according to Met Council data. At 362 miles, the trail system is now large enough to reach from Minneapolis to Milwaukee if it were connected end-to-end.”
We have a wonderful recreational space in the River Bottoms now and already have nearly 400 miles of trails. Doesn’t it make sense to protect the wild space we have rather than just adding more and more of something we already have a ton of?
You know the answer, but do those that represent you in local and state government?
